Unplanned emergency outage Nov 16, 2020 – 1130am
Please be advised there will be an unplanned power outage today (November 16, 2020) Due to damaged lines in the village. This will be from 11:30am until approximately 1pm.

Hemlock Utility Company has 3 power poles to replace next week, please note there is a scheduled outage from 9am to 5pm for Oct 27 & 28, 2020.
Boil Water Advisory Lifted
With successful potability tests being carried out this week, the boil water advisory has been rescinded. Thank you for being patient while we verified the safety of our water supply.

BOIL WATER NOTICE
Warning: Boil or Otherwise Treat Your Water Before Using
Date Issued: Sept 24th – 2020
The Hemlock Valley Water System has had sufficient turbidity within the water system due to record setting heavy rain on Thursday morning. This precautionary notice will remain in place for the weekend until Hemlock Utility Services has received 2 consecutive safe samples. This will allow and remove any potentially harmful bacteria while the system can be flushed and settles over the next 5 days.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Do not Drink the water without Boiling First Or otherwise treating the water.
Boil water for 1 minute (rolling boil). Preferable use a Kettle so as to reduce the risk of burns. Let it COOL before using.
You can choose to use Bottled Water
Boiled or bottled water should be used for DRINKING, COOKING, BRUSHING TEETH, WASHING READY TO EAT FOODS & WASHING DISHES.
Store treated water in sanitary containers & keep refrigerated
OTHER METHODS OF TREATING YOUR WATER
Note: Brita Water Filters will NOT provide treatment for microbes
What Happened? What is being done?
We are working with the Fraser Health Authority to investigate/resolve this issue. We are currently monitoring the system hourly and assessing the quality and levels.
We will inform you when the problem has been corrected and tests show no bacteria and you no longer need to boil your water.

Power is out from Morris Valley rd to Hemlock Valley since 8:03am. BC hydro is responding to the tree down and has posted an estimated time of 2:30pm.
